Interim Senior Pastor - Jim Wheeler

Pastor Jim Wheeler is currently serving as our Interim Senior Pastor.

Associate Pastor of Music - Josh Moore

Josh was born and raised in Warrensburg, Missouri. Josh received Christ into his heart in the seventh grade and answered God's call to full time ministry while he was attending high school. Josh graduated from Hannibal LaGrange College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and has interned at First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, Missouri, and was previously the Pastor of Worship and Arts at Central Baptist Church in Quincy, Illinois. In December of 2004, Josh prayed for an opportunity to be a part of a church in a community that was experiencing change and a church that was truly seeking to reach the changing culture and community around them. God then answered Josh's prayer, and Josh followed God's leadership for him and his family to First Baptist Church of Lake Saint Louis. In his spare time, Josh loves to swim, play soccer and racquetball, do some wakeboarding, and work on video production. Josh lives in the St. Charles County area with his wife Emily, and his children, Madelin, Abigail and new baby Bennet. His favorite authors are Jim and Carol Cymbala, and he loves to partake in Mexican food and Pepsi. Josh loves all kinds of music, but his favorite music artist are the Christian rock group, Casting Crowns. Josh's favorite scripture is from Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good pleasing and perfect will."

Associate Pastor of Youth - Tom Papez

Like most people, Tom was born wet and upside-down but later devoted his life to living right side up after his acceptance of Jesus Christ during his junior year in High School. While playing collegiate football at Central Missouri State and earning a double major in English and Social Studies, Tom served as President of the Fellowship of Christian Athlete chapter. Tom taught and coached high school in Knob Noster, Missouri and served as Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church of Windsor prior to moving to Wentzville in June of 2001. He is currently serving Christ in a multi-faceted role including teaching high school at Wentzville Timberland, serving as a football and track coach at Wentzville Timberland, and youth-pastoring at First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis.

Underneath his "enthusiastic kid stuck in the body of an adult" image is Tom's passion for connecting students to Jesus Christ. "Only three things last forever," states Tom, "God, God's Word, and the souls of mankind. Since people can only make a difference in the latter of those three, I believe it should be the goal of every believer to spend their entire life working to add to God's kingdom." Though Tom has been excited about the phenomenal success of the youth group, he continually challenges students to increase individual growth and deepen their relationship with Christ through quiet time.

Tom and his wife, Lori, have five children, Victoria, Bradley, Jacob, Julia and Hannah.
